How I put my feed.XML on a diet.

Ok so you have your web site published. You set up your pages just they way you want. Well that is what you thought. Turns out that one of your header pages needs to be deleted right? My first page is called WELCOME. First pages on your web site, which you will quickly learn, hold important information on following pages. If you make a mistake on your "welcome" page you might have to reload(using your text editor) the whole page. So whatever you do making MAJOR changes to your site, PLEASE SAVE OFTEN TO A SEPARATE  FOLDER! Unless you are an expert using a text editor, you often have to refer back to your older templates. 

So I was wondering how do I lose one of my web pages? I had deleted the HTML main page file, then I got rid of the support folder. I thought well maybe I will just have to reload my welcome and my page deletion should be reflected in my welcome page, right? WRONG! The one thing no one will tap you on the shoulder or give you a "clue" about is your feed.xml. It took me hours to figure HOW to actually delete your header(welcome) page. After your page is published, the header is put into a aggregator(RSS) so that other web sites can "feed" on your page content.  When you first hear this stuff, it might have your head spinning? Don't worry, I am here to pass on some useful info.   I figured out that if you edit(using your trusty text editor) the undesirable page in your feed.xml file. it will disappear from your header. Pretty cool, eh? So open your text editor, then open your feed xml.file. In this file you want to find the useless header subject. It should start with- and end with or .  You will also see a bunch of urn: numbers exclusively for that file- DELETE! That is it!  You will however HAVE TO reload your "welcome" page to reflect the changes in your header. Makes sense right?  If not, take a deep breath and start from square one.

The tao of websites

Once you get a website done, you wonder if all your work will actually MEAN something. I came up with my own idea of letting people decide which "things" in their life they love/hate. I never had the forethought I thought I had. Sure I was as eager as ever to start my own site. YES, I had a great idea behind my site! The things is that many of us wonder is, how do you get people to participate, not just visit you site? Of course I added my site to Digg.com and Mixx.com. The Internet is VAST! I am sure there are some feed promoters I never even heard of before. So far I have just pretty much stuck with good old Google.com. Their feed reader is quite good. I use Blogger an d feed Burner because they are free and they are awesome! I started to look at Typepad and back up faster than a white boy making a wrong turn into the hood. PAY for something that is otherwise FREE? Hell no! I am sure after they take your money they say, "we have your best interest in mind when it come to promoting your site!" What crap! I HAVE MY BEST INTERESTS IN MIND, NOT THEM! If you live close to NYC, you can understand how visual Americans are. Just look at all the Ad of beautiful people seemingly gazing at you high upon their billboard thrones. Somehow it makes me think of American Idol.
How utterly moronic that show really is. I break out in hives and vomit when that show comes on... I guess I am too smart for that garbage. Anyway getting back to websites. My point is, do websites have to be visual just to get people to write something? Let's face it, we live ion a fuel injected society. So how do you make a website, "fuel injected?" What do you guys think? I see sooo many brainless porn sites, I wonder if that is all Americans want? Porn along with cellphones, seem to be a communication breakdown these days. "Hey guys now you can masturbate at home and then get pissed you aren't dating anyone. Hey now, what a great deal! NOT!!" Part of the problems is that Americans have LOST the art of conversation, I think. Stone cold, sober communication. Gone, see ya, later, so longggg! What the hell is happening to our attention SPANS????
If I took a nude image of someone, would THAT make people want to visit? Probably! So my final thought are with you dear blogger, why don't you TELL ME what YOU think makes a great website? Is it images or content that moves your meter? Give me thebestandworstofthings.com, ok?

Want to learn more about web sites?

Creating a unique web site isn't as simple as you might think. If you want to know more about the internet and how your web site works, you will undoubetly have to use a text editor. Be really careful when you do! You should back- up EVERYTHING on your web site. You will probably make mistakes(I did) and be forced to go back to your previous HTML web page. Also if you change a major part of you web site, save it to a new folder. You will thank me later! Using adsense on you web page can also very tricky. Again you might be forced to go back to your "clean slate" web page. Understand now why I told you to save it? The

line followed by, is where I figured(through trial an error of course) would be the place under your header.
The first line under the , is Which I am told is a nonspecific block in your web page's HTML. THIS IS WHERE I PUT MY ADSENSE. But size does matter here! 468X60 works well for the top portion of your web page. If it is going to be bigger you will have to TEST which line suits you best! GOOD LUCK!
